VUT clocks up another international collaboration

Prof Ochieng Aoyi, who recently delivered his inaugural address on the Vanderbijlpark campus recently is happy to report that funding has been approved for an international collaboration to address the worldwide problem of acid mine drainage (AMD).

Known as the Tekes Green Mining Programme, the collaboration involves Universities in Finland and South Africa It will investigate low-cost adsorbents for the treatment of mining waste waters. The parties involved include:


The VUT/TUT Bioenergy and Wastewater Research Group

The UCT Precipitation and Crystallization Research Group

Finnish Universities lead by Lappeenranta University of Technology

Curtin University, Australia.
