Vaal University of Technology is an English medium university and therefore all communication, tuition, books, statements, examination results, etc will be in English.

No late international applications will be allowed.  No exception to the rule.  Kindly note international applicants cannot apply on-line and need to complete an international application form.  Applicants are required to submit all the necessary documentation requested with the international application form as incomplete or pending documentation will not be allowed.
 
 
Please download the international application form and complete all relevant areas.  Please read the under-mentioned information carefully before completing and submitting your application form. 
 
 
Documents to be attached to the international application form:
  • * School leaving certificate
  • * Certificate of conduct if previously enrolled at another tertiary institution
  • * Statement of results if previously enrolled at another tertiary institution
  • * Any other formal qualifications you have obtained
  • * Copy of Passport
  • * Study permit (should you have a study permit from another South African university)
  • * South African Qualifications Association evaluation - it is the responsibility of the prospective student to forward his/her documentation to SAQA.  Any enquiries, queries, communication etc will be between the SAQA evaluation applicant and SAQA. Please read the guidelines on the SAQA website carefully before submitting your request for evaluation to SAQA. Please note VUT will not accept the receipt for payment to SAQA only the SAQA evaluation certificate will be accepted.  International applicants from Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Kenya does not require SAQA evaluation.
  • * TOEFL or IELTS certificate (TOEFL test score = 550 or IELTS test score = 6.5 - no other English Profiency certificate will be accepted)
  • * Documentation translated to english plus copies of documentation in original language
  • * R110,00 international application fee (non refundable)
  • * After admission letter is received a non-refundable acceptance deposit of R850,00 (please use student number as reference).
 
Please note !! that the Vaal University of Technology does not admit students before certified results are handed in at the International Relations Department.

 2.  English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL)
 
 
International Applicants Students without English at A-level or O-level for whom English is a second language are required to submit one of the following:
 
A recent score on TOEFL score = 550 minimum (Test on English as a Foreign Language)
recent score on IELTS = 6.5 minimum (International English Language Testing System)

The following applicants are exempted for the requirements above:-
International students who successfully compeleted at least 1 year of academic studies at a College or University in an English speaking country.
  
 Applicants with a University degree with a major in English
Applicants who have completed studies whom English has been the language of instruction (letter from institution compulsary)
Applicants with education taken in European Economic Area (EEA) countries and / or in countries which are members of the European Council / UNESCO-Cepes, who have had English as their first foreign language and can provide document proof from the insitution they studied at.
