Proposals for presentations can be submitted to alpheusm@vut.ac.za or lena@vut.ac.za.
Presentations may be delivered on quality assurance and curriculum
development aspects of an educational programme in which there
is clearly a workplace-based component, or on issues associated
with Work Integrated Learning.
Presented papers should address the following conference strands:
Work Integrated Learning quality process
Work Integrated Learning quality monitoring and assessment
Incorporating Work Integrated Learning in the learning programs
Work Integrated Learning audit and measurement criteria
Work Integrated Learning quality partnerships
Work Integrated Learning meeting Higher Education requirements
Service Learning in Higher Education – extending the
concept of Work Integrated Learning
Papers will be peer reviewed in accordance with international
standards of publishing journals. Appropriate highly qualified
persons will form a panel of paper referees.
Presentations will be invited in one of three forms:
Research Papers: 25 – 30 minutes duration (15 – 20
minutes talk/10 minutes discussion). These presentations will
contain methodology, data and conclusions based on research
Discussion Papers: 25 – 30 minutes duration (15 – 20
minutes talk/10 minutes discussion). These presentations will
discuss an issue, describe a programme or provide opinion
Workshop: 40 – 50 minutes duration (must be interactive
throughout). These presentations will involve audience participation
in exploring an issue.
Proposal acceptance for the Conference will entitle the authors
to submit a paper for the refereed proceedings. Proceedings will
be available to delegates at the Conference.
