The Voice of Business (VoB) at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) selected three students to represent the university at a workshop in Germany. Accompanied by staff members, Onica Matsheke and Johannes Maseko, the purpose of the workshop was to expose the students to business skills required for real life projects in the work place. The visit took place from 26 June to 1 July.
The students who participated in the trip to Germany were Kamogelo Mopai, second year Financial Information, Angel Shabangu, Master’s student in Business Administration and Terence Ayuk, Master’s student in Information Technology.
The students who participated in this week long project held at Wismar University in Germany were from the following Universities: Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Technology and Business (HSW) and Vaal University of Technology (VUT).
It was the first experience for the selected students to visit Germany and they were amazed by the sun set, the authenticity and the originality that exists. The students won the best prize for participating in the projects. The students gave a special vote of appreciation to the VUT Corporate Affairs office, with a special thank you to Tisch Farrel, Marketing and Brand Manager, for sponsoring them with jackets, golf t-shirts and gifts to exchange.
