The Vaal University of Technology has been in a close relationship and mutual partnership with Aalen University in Germany for the past 8 years. A memorandum of agreement was signed on January 2012 and through the years, the students from both institutes have been engaging in exchange programs.
Currently six Vaal University of Technology students pursuing their Master’s degrees in various fields of study have been selected to go to Germany as beneficiaries of the Baden Wurttemberg Scholarship which is hosted by both Horschel Aalen and VUT.
Vivian Mapanda and Irene Popela (Information Technology), Le-nika Strydom (Fashion), Falatsi Mabuya(Biotechnology) Wiscent Timbani (Higher Education) and Nancy Tchiwara (Human Resource management) will be going on the exchange programme in order to advance their research, get first-hand experience on how research is conducted abroad and then bring back what they have acquired to share with the VUT community.
The students will be leaving on 27 February and will be in Germany for a period of six months.
The students said they are very excited for what lies ahead and are grateful to be a part of this.
