Tankiso Mokatsanyane 3rd year Public Relations student
Staff Reporter
The latest student recruit of the Sports and Recreation Department, Tankiso Mokatsanyane, has been making his mark. Through his proactive approach, Vaal University of Technology Sport has been able to create a regular slot on VUT FM’s Sports Agenda.
This initiative, by VUT Sport Marketing, is a vehicle that hopes to build bridges with the local community as people are able to call in on a regular basis to ask questions about sport and the university in general.
The platform can also be used to reach out to sponsors for projects that are planned in the near future.
Mr Mokatsanyane was born in Bedworth Park and attended General Smuts High School. Upon completing matric he enrolled at VUT to study Public Relations and is now in his third year while concurrently doing an internship in the Sports and Recreation Department. Prior to his internship he worked at Bua Sedibeng News as a junior field journalist, so he brings a wealth of knowledge in this field to our department. This young man is also the founder of a children’s football team called Olympiacos FC based in Bedworth Park.
