Information Technology student, Nyiko Mabunda obtained the second highest average in the whole of the university. He was in disbelief at the recognition he received because he did not believe he would perform so well.
What makes his achievement all the more admirable is that Nyiko lost his father just before his final examination, four days before his own birthday.
“I was overwhelmed with so many emotions and to think I had to come back to write my final exam was very stressful for me,” he said.
Nyiko gave a word of advice to fellow students who might be going through difficult challenges: “Life has its own obstacles but when it gets tough, try to get tougher. There is always light at the end of tunnel,” he said.
Nyiko is now more determined than ever and is gearing up to get first position in 2020.
