Bophelo Tsotetsi reaps her rewards

Though she did not conclude the race in record time, she is a woman that does not serve a God of time. Bophelo Tsotetsi from Evaton North in the Vaal enrolled for her National Diploma in Biomedical Technology in 2011,which she pursued at her own pace due to ill health and went on to work thereafter. She came back for a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Biomedical technology years after. She describes herself as a kind and passionate person who just became one of the graduates in the 2021 Vaal University of Technology Summer graduations under the faculty of Applied sciences.

Her motivation stems from God. She believes that the saying “God is good” is not a mantra but it depicts her life. Bophelo attempted to give up numerous times but the support system she received from home and church kept her growing and going strong. Her first graduation became one of the most empowering moments in her life, she reflected on how badly she wanted to throw in the towel when most people were going that route but she stood tall and channelled her mindset to not be like other people but to focus on being herself. Her future entails branching into a different course to widen her expertise in the field.

“Remember why you started, you didn’t start your academic journey to be admirable, but the journey began on your own accord. Gratify yourself first then become an inspiration. Don’t let external pressures deter you. Remember where you are coming from and contemplate where you’re going” she advises.
