Mr Joseph Norman Radebe, Nehawu VUT Branch Chairperson has been appointed as a member of the National Steering Committee Secretariat for the National Social Cohesion Advocates of the Department of Arts and Culture deputy secretary.

Mr Joseph is a current Acting Director: Community Engagement Department at VUT and a member of the South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Sedibeng Region. He has served VUT for more than 15 years as a permanent employee and 5 years on a contract.

He joined VUT in 2002 as an Invigilator and was determined to work hard in order to climb the corporate ladder. His determination landed him in a position of Manager: Social Justice and Transformation and a member of Council for three terms representing non-academics.

Mr Joseph Radebe possesses a National Diploma, BTech Degree in Labour Relations and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from VUT, and skills development certificates in Management Development program from Gibbs and Wits Business School respectively and more than 10 certificates in Collective Bargaining and Conflict Resolution.

With his new appointment under leadership of Honorable Nathi Mthethwa, Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Mr Joseph is determined to challenge the service delivery status quo in the Sedibeng District whilst advocating for a socially cohesive communities and promoting active citizenship.
