Dr Teboho Pitso, Project Manager: Learner Support at VUT will be one of the inspiring speakers at this year’s Blended Learning Conference to be held in Sandton from 24-25 August.
This conference seeks to promote a culture of blended learning within institutions and effect stakeholder mind-set transformation. It also assists with implementing innovative blended teaching methods to improve student engagement and encourage continued learning.
In his research work in teaching and learning within undergraduate studies, Dr Pitso has established a global reputation, with many of his papers being cited into a number of foreign languages.
Dr Pitso believes that universities like VUT are ready for blended learning: “We have the infrastructure in all our universities to implement it, but infrastructure availability and effective use of blended learning are two different things. This forms part of my presentation at the conference,” he said.
Since gaining his PhD in Engineering Education at Wits University, Dr Pitso has dedicated his academic life to advancing scholarship and rigorous research on innovative ways of teaching and learning that enhance students’ creative and problem-solving abilities.
This will also form part of his presentation.
