Addressing students: Mr John Ikome, a lecturer in Engineering
Mr John Ikome, a lecturer in Engineering encouraged students to make a difference and leave a mark. He said they need to continuously improve their skills and learn as much as they could. “You need to put the name of the department and VUT very high in the industry… never give up, despite the situation” he said.
“You are the virtue of conquering,” said Ms Dorcas Mallane, a lecturer in Engineering. She expressed her gratitude and excitement for students as they now enter the world of work. She emphasised to them to strive towards being their own boss and understand who they are (i.e. be bold enough to apply their tools and techniques obtained from their I.E and O.M course and demonstrate their competence and show their mark in the world). In closing she said: “You are able to, regardless of the situation.”
The Chairperson of OMIESSO, Mr Manengu Ndonji, graduated Cum Laude with a National Diploma in Industrial Engineering and received the Vice-Chancellor’s Award.
