The Department of Communication is honoured to organise and co-ordinate the 12th Faculty of Human Sciences Research Seminar. The Department of Communication in collaboration with Corporate Communication Department vision is that the Research Seminar will contribute to the Fundamental change in social sciences. Furthermore, the research seminar serves as a developmental platform for both novice and seasoned researchers and staff to share relevant information and research knowledge, and it showcases research achievements of peers and colleagues. The seminar aims to build self-confidence and contribute to the creation of a culture of research within the Faculty of Human Sciences and the institution.  Ultimately, the goal is to create fundamental change in Social Sciences through research.

As a service department we are fortunate to touch the lives of every student that enters the Vaal University of Technology (VUT).  We pride ourselves on being a team of lecturers with relatively diverse skills and a solid knowledge base in various fields of Communication, including the latest communication platforms (social media).  In addition, our lecturers have expertise in fields in Human and Social Sciences such as Education, History, Political Science, Psychology and various languages.  It is as a result of these attributes that the Department has, over the years, served as an “incubator” for Departments such as Public Relations, Legal Sciences and, recently, Education, which have since become independent. The Department of Communication in collaboration with Corporate Communication Department vision is that the Research Seminar will contribute to the Fundamental change in social sciences.
