Nonkululeko Xuza is an administrator to the Vice Chancellor and Principals office, who regards herself as a critical thinker, assertive and social conscious.” I can have a bit of a stubborn streak, yet I am motivated by the spirit of egalitarianism and I enjoy teamwork and participating in projects with like-minded individuals. I can be friendly to everyone I encounter” she said.
Born and bred in Kwa-Thema in the East Rand (Ekurhuleni) and a mother of a nineteen-year-old teenager. She holds National Diploma in Language Practice from then ML Sultan Technikon (Durban University of Technology), BA in Communication Science degree from UNISA.
She expresses that being an employee of the Vaal University of Technology has been very fascinating with its own challenges. It was a huge culture shock after being a resident of KZN for over a decade, but she appreciates the change. She’s been involved in many projects that exposed her in different roles, someone might not see it as an achievement but taking time to learn about all the operational departments within a university in order to be able to perform in your job has allowed me to understand my role in the VC’s office .Working in the Vice-Chancellors office has its highs and lows and as an individual she had to ensure that she accustom herself with each and their managerial and leadership style. ” I always believed that you give each person a chance to showcase their leadership skills and serve them with utmost respect”.
