The Community Engagement Department has done it again by taking care of its surrounding community. They have adopted several NGOs by showing love, kindness and support through handouts.
On 2 August, they visited Lebohang Centre (previously known as Naledi Centre) in Sebokeng Zone 10a which takes care of physically disabled children. In partnership with Sedibeng: Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, they donated party packs and clothes.
The visit was honored by the ward 31 councillor Ms Phumzile Mxongo, who shared details about what the employees at the centre face daily. She said that it takes special courage and heart to care for physically challenged children: “We need to support the caregivers with prayers and assist them with necessary skills that will enhance the centre,” she said.
Parcels donated to the centre
The administrator gave thanks on behalf of the Lebohang Centre: “We would like to thank the Vaal University of Technology and all the government structures for supporting us; it has been a very difficult journey for our centre, but through the support we receive from the donors we manage to survive!”
