Students at the Lethabo Power Station
Twenty-four Schneider Electric students were given the opportunity to visit Lethabo Power Station this quarter. To see what electrical and civil engineers do, how electricity is generated, the different boilers, the control rooms and everything else available and is done in the plant to basically get a feel for and exposure to what is expected of them in the industry.
Students being informed of how the power station operates
Mr Hendrick Langa, Director at Schneider Electric, said this was what they aimed to do so they did not just gain skills but should leave knowing what was expected of them in the industry. They are planning to do more next semester and this is something they hold dear to their hearts as a Department and believe will benefit their students.
