A total of one hundred (100) students from the Vaal University of Technology (VUT), spanning all four faculties, are currently engaged in the Technological Higher Education Network South Africa (THENSA) Bespoke Online Entrepreneurship Programme. This comprehensive eight(8)-week program commenced on 10 September and is set to run until 6 November 2023.
Endorsed by the Muster Technological University in Ireland, this initiative enables students to complete the program at their own convenience, during their free time and after regular hours. The programme’s completion is slated within the initial eight weeks from its commencement date.
At VUT, the programme is facilitated by the Cooperative Department, which expressed immense pride in both the initiative itself and the active participation of its students. The THENSA Online Entrepreneurship Programme holds the promise of fostering a new generation of young entrepreneurs poised to be job creators within their own communities. These opportunities are anticipated to apply a positive influence on the growth trajectory of South Africa’s economy.
Moreover, the programme instils an entrepreneurial mindset and approach among students as they gear up for the workforce. It also serves as a platform for exposure to diverse perspectives and varied business cultures. These insights are gleaned from societies and economies that have confronted and continue to face challenges like those experienced in SA.
VUT extends its heartfelt best wishes to all the participating students, hoping for their success in this transformative endeavour!
