Lethloholono More joined athletics in primary school, not taking it seriously at all. He took part in football and volleyball as well, something that is common but discouraged for athletes who want to pursue a particular sport. It was in 2014 when he realised that he is good in athletics after winning a bronze medal at the S.A Schools (South African Schools Championships). He took the decision to focus on athletics and from that point on he came out in the top 5 during at the S.A Champs (South African Seniour Championships) and then top 3, missing out on medals on some occasions, but he did not give up.
On 23 March 2019, a Varsity Athletics competition took place in Potchefstroom where Lethlohonolo More brought home a bronze medal in the 1 500m event, with running time of 3m:58s. He had run the 5 000m 2 hours earlier that day in order to warm up for his main event, placing forth, an outstanding result considering that it isn’t his main event and one that was run for the sake of warming up only. Winning a Varsity Athletics medal is a big deal. The competition is of an intensely high level, the pinnacle of university sport in South Africa.

His short-term goal is to run a PB (Personal Best) of sub 3m:50s in the 1 500m seeing that his opponents are clocking 3m:42s. Lethlohonolo anticipates clocking the sub 3m:50s at the USSA (University Sport South Africa) competition which will take place later in the year. His other goal is to improve from the10th place during the last year’s 5 000m race he ran for the very first time in his life. He aims for the top 5 this year. His long-term goal is to qualify for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2024 Olympic Games.
