Safety Management student recognized

At a meeting attended by all the full-time Safety Management students on 12 February 2015, the HoD: Legal Sciences, Dr Deidre Joubert, presented Ms Bonisiwe Sibiya with a copy of a letter and certificate naming her top Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) student of the year.

Each year, the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh) recognises outstanding students in the field. Studying towards her National Diploma in Safety Management, Ms Sibiya was nominated for her diligence and dedication to her first- and second-year studies.

Her award includes:

1. R5 000 paid towards her study fees for 2015.

2. A certificate and floating trophy which will be presented to her at a cocktail function on 12 May 2015 at the annual OHS Conference

3. An invitation to attend the Saiosh OHS conference at Gallagher Estate, in Midrand, on 12 and 13 May 2015.

4. One year free Saiosh membership.

Through perseverance and commitment, she has set an excellent example of what can be achieved through hard work. She is a true role model to VUT students.

We wish Ms Sibiya all the best with her third year studies.
