VUT Southern Gauteng Science and Technology Park had its employees attend a Skills Development Project with Professor Ahmed Wadee from Thorn Tree in preparation of the 18th Annual RAPDASA conference later this year.
This workshop took place on 9 May 2017 and Professor Wadee held one-on-one sessions with individuals, offering them support through mentoring and coaching so that they are able to make progress with regard to planning and implementing of their projects.
One such employees, Mr Reynard van der Grijp; a senior designer, plans on studying Engineering Management and he met with Professor Wadee for guidance on how to engage on such research for further development. “It was my first time engaging with Prof and I believe his guidance on my research proposal will be fruitful,” he said.
Other reasons for Prof Wadee’s intervention was to assist in writing extended abstracts, writing of manuscripts, to assist in proposal writing for PHDs and also in running practical courses to improve staff qualifications. “I am extremely pleased to be of assistance to staff who are so eager to improve their qualifications. I hope to run a short course on proposal writing and how to write a research article”, said Professor Wadee.
