The First SAIEE Electrical Engineering

Academic Olympiad

The First SAIEE Student Chapter Electrical Engineering Academic Olympiad saw 20 of the best electrical engineering students in their final year undergraduate compete in a single rigorous interdisciplinary competition. The main aim of the competition was to identify talent, to encourage excellence in engineering science, to stimulate interest in education and to foster academic excellence. The Olympiad inspired undergraduate electrical engineering students to advance themselves in the knowledge of electrical engineering. The First SAIEE Academic Olympiad was won by Sphamandla Nkosi who was awarded during the SAIEE Presidential Address held at Quest Conference.

SAIEE collaborates with Schneider Electric

The SAIEE at VUT was invited by the South African Schneider Electric Education Centre to form a collaboration where students will have the opportunity of engaging in additional education. The partnership seeks to advance the knowledge of students within the electrical engineering field. Part of the education entails granting the students the opportunity to learn how to electrically wire homes and business premises.
